For years, I wondered why God wasn't answering my prayers,

why he wasn't bringing me the breakthrough I so desperately wanted.

I prayed for clarity.

I prayed for direction. I prayed for growth.

I asked him to help me write more,

reach more,

break through,

move forward.

And yet I still felt stalled,

tired,

uncertain, confused.

Even less than maybe right now. You know that feeling too, friend.

Not because you've stopped believing or lost all hope, but because you don't yet understand what's holding things in place.

So if you find yourself here today, this desperate to hear from God, desperate for change,

stick around.

Because today's message is for you, friend.

This is the Anointed Scribe Podcast.

I'm Urcelia Teixeira, ex real estate agent turned award winning Christian fiction author.

When I wrote my first novel on a bucket list whim, I I had no idea it would spark a spiritual journey that would redefine my calling. But you know what, friend?

Self publishing wasn't easy. I got caught in the hustle, chasing rankings and sales while desperately trying to stay rooted in Christ.

Now, by God's grace, I'm building my author business his way. And now he's called me to help you do the same.

Welcome to the Anointed Scribe Podcast with where faith meets business for Christian writers. Let's write, publish and grow our author business God's way. Are you ready? Well then, let's get started.

Hey, it's your author friend, Urcelia. And welcome to this week's episode of the Anointed Scribe Podcast.

I can't be more excited to have you here today, friend, because today's topic is has been on my heart to share with you for a while now.

Because it's one of those issues we struggle with most when we find ourselves in the pits of despair.

That place where your prayers feel heavier than your hope.

Where your journal pages are full but heaven feels quiet. Right where you are still showing up but your heart is asking, did I miss something?

When we are so desperate to hear from God only to find him silent.

And I want you to know something right away. Silence is one of the most misunderstood languages of God.

Not because he isn't speaking,

but because he often whispers beneath the noise of our urgency.

So if this is your first time here, I'm so glad you found your way to this conversation.

I know with absolute certainty it was a God incident.

Because there are episodes you stumble upon,

and then there are moments God guides your steps into.

And this is one of those moments, friend.

Because if you're a Christian writer or author who wants to grow spiritually and succeed. In your author business,

you're exactly where you should be.

Not because you've done everything right,

but because God always meets us in the middle of becoming,

not at the finish line.

And today we are going to talk about something tender.

Not doubt, but discernment.

Because doubt says God isn't here, right?

But discernment asks, what is God forming in me before he moves around me?

Because sometimes the delay isn't denial and sometimes the silence isn't absence.

Sometimes God is not withholding the answer.

He's preparing the foundation.

And foundations are built quietly, right?

They are poured in cracks and unseen places, and they are laid long before anyone notices what they are meant to hold.

I remember doing what I knew to do.

Praying,

showing up, keeping writing,

trying to stay faithful.

And yet it still felt like I was circling the same place year on year.

Like you're moving but not actually advancing.

Like you're growing but not actually arriving anywhere. Like you're faithful but but quietly wondering why. Nothing seems to be shifting yet maybe you're feeling that right now, too. The frustration doesn't sound loud.

It sounds quiet, right?

It sounds like sighs you don't even realize you're exhaling.

It sounds like tired prayers you are whispering instead of speaking.

It sounds like continuing, even when your heart is asking heavy questions that your mouth doesn't even know how to form.

Why does this feel so heavy?

Why does growth feel harder than it should?

Am I missing something?

Not because you don't trust God, but because you do.

Because you believed Him. You surrendered, you obeyed. And now you're trying to understand what obedience is producing and you don't understand what he's waiting on.

Friend, I lived in that confusion for longer than I want to admit.

I understand that quiet wondering, that tender exhaustion.

And I want to pause here for a moment because over the past little while I've been reading through some of the clarity quiz responses many of you have been sending in.

And friend,

my heart has been heavy,

not in condemnation, but in compassion.

Because I recognize the sound of weary faith.

Not because you're doing something wrong, friend, but because I recognize your words,

the exhaustion, the sadness,

the quiet wondering if maybe you missed something or if God has moved onto someone else.

And I want you to hear this clearly.

You are not broken.

You're not late to the party.

You're not invisible to God.

Not your prayers, not your tears,

not your obedience,

not your waiting.

I know this because I once believed all those lies about myself too.

You are standing in the same place I once stood before God began shifting everything in me from the inside out.

And if your heart has been feeling tender,

tired, or quietly discouraged lately, it makes sense.

Because spiritual transitions often begin with a grief.

Grief for what you thought your calling would feel like by now.

This moment is not the end of your story.

It's the beginning of your realignment.

A holy repositioning, a quiet recalibration.

A returning to the version of you God always saw,

even when you couldn't see it. Yet there was a season in my own life where I quietly believed something I never said out loud.

I believed that maybe I wasn't righteous enough.

Maybe I had disappointed God.

Maybe he was withholding something because I had failed him somehow. And friend,

I need you to hear this.

Those were lies. Not from God, but from the enemy.

God was not punishing me.

He was preparing me. I see that now.

He was not withholding.

He was rebuilding me from the inside out.

Here's what we seldom consider and what I didn't understand for years.

God often answers our prayers by changing us before he changes our eyes outcomes.

Not as a delay, but as a preparation.

Definitely not as a punishment, but as protection.

Because what we are asking him to grow has to be built on something that can actually sustain it, right?

God does not grow callings on shaky root or shaky foundations.

He grows them on healed hearts.

When my breakthrough moment finally came,

it wasn't God changing my circumstances yet it was God changing me first.

Think about that for a moment. Let that truth settle not in your mind,

but into your nervous system.

Let me give you a simple picture that might drive this home better.

Imagine trying to pour fresh water into a cracked vessel.

No matter how much water you add,

it never fills. It just keeps leaking out, right?

So you keep adding more water.

You pray more, you push more, you discipline yourself harder.

But God, in His wisdom and mercy, doesn't keep pouring into cracked vessels.

He stops not to withhold,

but to heal.

He pauses the pouring so he can tend to the cracks.

Because he knows that if he keeps pouring into something that can't hold,

you'll confuse overflow with loss.

And sometimes the greatest answer to prayer is not more provision,

but restoration of the vessel that's meant to carry that provision.

The breakthrough you've been praying for.

It might require a version of you that you are not quite ready to be yet.

Not because you're insufficient or less than,

but because God loves you too much to give you something your current foundation can't hold.

So let me ask you this.

What if your Breakthrough hasn't been blocked,

but buffered.

Not because you're behind,

but because God is still tending the roots.

What if the work he's doing underneath your prayer is actually the answer you've been waiting for?

Before you set another goal, before you push yourself harder, I want you to pause.

Because striving can sound spiritual,

but it often drowns out what God is quietly trying to do and restore.

And ask yourself a different what might God be preparing me for?

Now, I want to gently clarify something, because this is where many of us quietly misunderstand this waiting season.

Waiting on God doesn't mean staying passive.

It doesn't mean doing nothing and hoping things magically change.

There's a difference between sitting and waiting and actively participating in what God is doing.

Yes, God is preparing you,

but preparation invites participation.

It invites you to notice what needs to shift,

to release what no longer belongs,

to rebuild what needs restoring.

That's not hustle, that's partnership.

Hustle says, I must fix this.

Partnership, says God, show me what you are healing in me.

And partnership is where transformation actually begins, right?

Not what am I supposed to do next,

but what is God building in me right now?

Because, friends, sometimes the most important transformation happens in the waiting.

And if this episode quietly described where you are right now,

I want you to hear this clearly.

You are not meant to stay here.

God does not bring you to a moment of awareness like this just to leave you hanging in it.

Awareness is an invitation,

not a resting place.

It is the doorway between what has been and what God is rebuilding.

And while there is no rush, there is a next step.

I have placed a gentle clarity quiz in the show notes to help you begin discerning what God may be inviting you into right now.

No pressure, just direction,

not performance,

just alignment.

And I'll leave you with this.

God doesn't reveal what needs healing without also preparing the way forward.

Sometimes the way forward is a doorway you didn't even know existed yet.

Sometimes breakthrough doesn't come as a door opening.

Sometimes it comes as a foundation that needs to be healed first.

And that healing,

that's not wasted time,

that's the most important work of all.

Because healed foundations don't just change seasons,

they change futures.

Friend, if today's episode stirred something in you,

if you found yourself thinking, yes, this is exactly where I am,

I want you to know you don't have to navigate this alone.

There comes a point where information isn't enough and what's really needed is a deeper reset, a rebuilding in the right order.

The revive to thrive Way is a guided,

spirit led experience for Christian authors who are done striving,

done forcing growth, and ready to build from a place of clarity,

alignment and peace. It's not about doing more,

it's about building differently with God as your foundation,

not just your add on. It's the exact shifts I made myself that changed everything for me in my author life.
